2009-2010 FAIRFIELD PUBLIC SCHOOL BUDGET

This budget holds the local tax levy to a 3.5% increase, 1/2% lower than the maximum allowed increase.

All students in Fairfield are provided with courtesy school bus transportation. The district maintains class size of approximately twenty students whenever possible. An All-Day Kindergarten program is offered in the 2009 - 2010 Budget and provides kindergarten aides for each teacher. Both Stevenson and Churchill schools have full-time nurses, fully equipped computer labs with 22 workstations each, media centers, and a full-time media specialist and a full-time technology teacher. Each School building has been carefully maintained to ensure a safe and clean environment. Buildings and Grounds are continually inspected and monitored. Minor renovations are completed on a yearly schedule, incorporated by the preventive maintenance schedule. Special Area teachers teach content based activities. There are 2.5 physical education instructors. Fairfield has special area teachers for Art, English as a Second Language, High Enrichment, World Language, Technology, and both Vocal and Instrumental Music, including a string Instrument Specialist. There are two Basic Skills Instructors who assist students with Remedial needs. An In-House Preschool disabled class provides state mandated services. The Child Study Team includes a Learning Disabilities Teaching Consultant (LDTC), School Psychologist, and a Social Worker.
